Why Community Matters to Me

When people ask me why I decided to run for Rochester City Council, I always start with one word: community.
I was raised right here in Rochester, and this city shaped me. I’ve seen the beauty in our neighborhoods—the resilience of our families, the strength of our elders, and the brilliance of our young people. But I’ve also seen the struggles: the gaps in affordable housing, the trauma from gun violence, and the lack of access to mental health care. I don’t view these as problems for someone else to solve. I see them as our problems—ones we can tackle together, hand in hand.
Working with and in the community isn’t just a campaign talking point for me—it’s who I am. Whether I’m organizing a neighborhood cleanup, sitting with a grieving family, or listening to concerns at a community meeting, I carry the stories of Rochester’s people with me. They guide every decision I make and every policy I fight for.
I believe real change starts on the ground. It starts by knocking on doors, making space for voices that are often silenced, and showing up consistently—not just during election season. My promise to you is that I will always be that voice at City Hall who listens, learns, and leads with love.
Because when you fight with your community, you don’t just create policy—you create power. And that’s what this campaign is about.
Let’s build a stronger Rochester—together. 💪🏾🧡#KeeKeeForCouncil #PeopleFirst #RochesterStrong
